So here are some books that I’ve found floating in my collection. It’s not hoarding if it’s books….

I have a bad habit of buying more books than I actually need. But in this case, I already have everything I need.

So are you paranoid? I have come across quite a few people who are paranoid that their devices have been hacked or that someone is monitoring them. No matter what I do to explain to them that their device is safe and there is nothing going on they don’t seem to believe me. So some of them are unwell, and I’m not a psychiatrist and nothing I say will change their minds. The other people that are genuinely concerned about what data is coming into and going out of their phone have left me feeling like there is something that I can do. So, what can I do? Well…. I’ve picked up some books on Network Forensics as well as iOS and Android programming. I want to see if it is possible to create a free and open-source forensics toolkit for both platforms. I’m just at the beginning and am not sure which direction any of this will go. What I want is something someone can use that presents forensic information in a simple easy to ready and understand format. I will update here hopefully in a weeks time to track my progress. I’m also doing University as well so it will be interesting to see if I can manage my time. But anyway.
So trimester 2 teaching period starts on Monday. I’m feeling prepared for the trimester that lay ahead. I’ve already submitted some work and have some more to hand in over the next couple of days. I’m studying a Bachelor of Cyber Security as I have previously studied a Certificate IV in Cyber Security as well as an Advanced Diploma in Cyber Security through Box Hill TAFE. I’m at Deakin now on their Cloud Campus. I chose online because during lockdown in Melbourne I went to TAFE and got used to the online delivery of classes and content. I like being able to study from home and set my own hours so to speak. I’m still treking along with the TCM-Security PNPT. I’m finding myself re-watching material as I don’t remember stuff just passing through the content once. OSCP is going to happen at the end of the year once the trimester has been completed. I’m my free time I’m looking at Buffer Overflows (surprise suprise) and just doing self directed learning.
So the job I had lined up last year disappeared when I disclosed mental health information. So yeah, that was totally illegal and I took the company to Fair Work Australia and got a small settlement, they basically got told off for shitty behavior. I could have taken it to the Federal Court but I wanted to move on with my life and just took a settlement. Also I’m not an a-hole
As far as the OSCP and PNPT go. I failed both. I need to hack more computers on the Offensive Security Lab Environment as well as going over the material for the PNPT again. I’m hopefully doing PNPT at the end of June if I get all the coursework done. The OSCP I’ll start studying for in December because I’ll be in Trimester 2 at University starting July.
Also saw Frenzal Rhomb on Friday night in Melbourne with a Friend. It was awesome. Not Cyber Security related but this is what I listen to while I work.
So going with coding convention, my first post is hello world. Welcome to the blog. This is where I document what I’m working on, what I find interesting and everything else. I’m currently studying for the TCM-Security PNPT as well as the Offensive-Security OSCP. My TCM-Security exam is on Sunday Australian time. The OSCP is happening on the 3rd of December 2022. Slightly nervous but pumped at the same time.
